It has been a while since posting. Baby, house, chickens, cows, blah, blah, blah.
But really, we have been so busy I have not been able to sit down for even a few moments to write anything. Well, that is not entirely true. Any spare time I have had, I have done a project, cleaned a space or tried to catch up on sleep. Now that the little fella is sleeping better, I have stepped away from my job and am doing the farm-rehab-refurbish-create-mom life, I sorta have some minutes here are there to post.
The outside is coming along, but man is this a project. Starting in February, we started working on the kitchen. We are loving it, and looking forward to sharing.
In July of 2013 we adopted 16 chicks from a family who were moving states. Our lovely Buff Orpingtons lived in the house until we were able to find a good coop. We free range them, and they love the freedom, bugs and vegetation. It is not always the safest, as we have lost two. :( One to an owl and one to a raccoon.
We raised two calves in 2014 as well. They were neat cows and we really enjoyed the experience. This year we have three!
We enjoyed another Christmas, this time with a munchkin who was learning to walk at the same time. Exciting times!
Our farm boy loves mud, puddles, being outside and being with the animals. One of his first consistent words was "Chicken." He loves petting them.
He is a fun, energetic and inquisitive little guy. He is a great helper (sometimes too much...as tools are often in little hands when we turn around looking for them.)
Everyone is growing (except the tree we had cut down.) A limb fell on my car during a bad storm and totaled it. So, the whole tree came down.
That is a quick catch up. Hope to share some of the changes soon in the house, as well as some great redos and renews!

you showed that tree! :-D Your front room looks so different in that picture with the Christmas tree.
